The family of popular Moja Love reality show participant Reverend Mthandeni Dlamuka has denied that he has died.
Rumours spread on social media platforms that Dlamuka has died at the weekend. He had appeared in the show, Isencane Lengane looking ill and in bed on Saturday.
The show showcases the trials and tribulations of the young couple Siyacela Dlamuka and his young wife Thando.
They married while they were both in high school. Siyacela had to leave school as he felt he was now a man and cannot have another man or woman telling him what to do and when.
‘The show is popular and enjoys a strong viewership. The news of Dlamuka’s death shocked many who feel he is the main character in the show.
But family spokesman, Sphamandla Ntombela told Isolezwe that the rumours were just blatant lies and Dlamuka was alive and kicking.
“Mr Dlamuka took ill last year when it was discovered that he had a liver problem,” said Ntombela.
“He would swell all over. He was healed and looked to be recovering well. But this year he had an unfortunate incident.
“He fell into a sewerage hole at Ulundi Plaza and was rushed to Ngwelezane hospital. It was discovered that he dislocated pelvic joints.
“He was then sent to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital for an operation. But it was discovered he couldn’t be operated on because his blood pressure levels were too high.

“We are disappointed by the spreading of news that he had died on social media without verifying with the family.
“When he was alerted to the news, he was really hurt. This led to his blood pressure shy rocketing again,” explained Ntombela.
He also revealed that Dlamuka’s situation had improved but they had taken his cellphone from him. This was done to avoid him getting further fake news.
“We wish that everyone would pray for him rather than wish him such bad things. And to give his family, four wives, children and grandchildren a chance to take care of Mr Dlamuka si he can recover.”
