Much ado about nothing as Ukhozi announce new lineup

There are no surprises in Ukhozi FM’s new show and presenter lineup for the upcoming business year.
The changes were announced on Wednesday by the station’s business manager Sbongi Ngcobo.
The listeners who were anticipating drastic changes and a new presenter lineup on Ukhozi FM may be left disappointed.
When announcing the new lineup on Ukhozi’s flagship breakfast show, Vuka Mzansi on Wednesday, Ngcobo revealed the reasons behind their decision not to tinker too much.
“When you set a lineup you don’t need to rush things,” said Ngcobo. “You should not change every year.
“It’s important to stay with your presenters so that they will grow within the radio station.
“I don’t like regular changes. We can’t see the listeners’ numbers escalateing if we keep on changing,” Ngcobo said live on air.
The breakfast show on Ukhozi FM is hosted by Sipho “Sqgemeza” Mbatha and Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi.
When asked about the criteria when setting up the lineup, Ngcobo said that they look at the talent, character and capabilities for a presenter.
Ngcobo made an example of Ulibo Lokuqala which is a pre-breakfast show hosted by Phindi P.
“We noticed and decided that this show is suitable for her by looking at her character,” she said.
The Winnie Mahlangu 2021 talent search winner Bingelela Mpanza was the only big change that has happened on Ukhozi FM this year.
She will now be hosting one of the station’s flagship shows, Sigiya Ngengoma on Saturdays.

She joins Bheka “BK” Mchunu who has had some health scares while live on air and missed a number of shows.
“Bingelela showed maturity behind the microphone since she joined us in 2021 through Winnie Mahlangu talent search,” added Ngcobo.
Veteran presenter Zanele Mbokazi also makes a return to the station to do the Sunday devotion show.
