EFF cool with Mpofu representing Zuma
Malema says they can’t interfere in their members’ professional work even if it goes beyond party lines

It is not a problem if EFF affiliated doctors treat former president, Jacob Zuma. This was an analogy given by EFF leader, Julius Malema. He was quizzed on party secretary, Dali Mpofu’s involvement in defending Zuma in his corruption trial.
“Any doctor of the EFF can treat former president Jacob Zuma,” quipped the Commander in Chief of the EFF. Malema has himself been trending on social media.
He was recently involved a fracas during the sitting of the Pan Africa Parliament (PAP) in Gauteng when he threatened ‘to kill’ a Malian colleague. They however made peace outside the sitting and ended up taking photos together and smiling.
Speaking to the SABC on Wednesday, Malema said the EFF had no squabbles with Mpofu representing Zuma. This came just a few months after Malema had also visited Zuma’s residence in Nkandla ‘for tea’. Zuma was the EFF’s enemy number one while he was president, with Malema using every chance to tell him to step down.
“We cannot instruct our accountants not to do the ANC work because we would be interfering with their professional work,” he said. Malema added that Mpofu was doing his work and he does not even have to consult with them before accepting such jobs.
Mpofu is an advocate by profession. It is not the first time that Mpofu represents someone outside the party lines. He also represented members of the ANC previously in a case against the party.
“Should we do that, it would mean we will tell them who to date and not to date in future,” Malema said. He said they are not the party that intends to suppress the rights and future of their members.
