Calls for Tshatha’s immediate reinstatement on Ukhozi FM gain support from his ‘enemy’

Since the passing on of King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, there have been calls for SABC RADIO station Ukhozi FM to reinstate presenter Tshathugodo Ngobe who was suspended late last year.
A section of the station’s listeners feel that Ngobe would be the perfect man to drive shows that are especially dedicated to honouring the fallen king.
Ngobe is known for his eloquence on the procedures and history of the Zulu Monarch and his contributions are believed to be what would make for a fitting tribute.
Among those calling for his reinstatement is his ‘sworn enemy’ and former colleague on Ukhozi, Ngizwenkosi Mchunu.
Mchunu has been known to be a critic of Ngobe’s work and understanding of the Zulu culture, claiming to be the best at it.
But on Monday a video of Mchunu speaking at what looks to be a public event somewhere, is heard calling the station’s management fools for not recalling Ngobe during this time of mourning in the land.
“If Ukhozi was not managed by rotten people, they would have brought back Khathide Ngobe to relay the history. This thing of women to tell us where we come from as a nation during a time like this when we are mourning,” Mchunu is heard shouting.
There has also been a petition going around on social media where people are asked to sign their names calling for Ukhozi FM to bring back Ngobe even if it is just until after the king has been laid to rest.
The station’s newly appointed business manager, Sibongi Ngcobo has also been inundated with such calls on her social media accounts.
