The passing on of the regent of amaZulu, Queen Mantfombi Shiyiwe Zulu (65) has shocked the world after barely a month since the passing on of her husband, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
From last night after the announcement by the Prime Minister to the Monarch and the Zulu Nation, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, many people took to Twitter to convey their heartfelt condolences to the Zulu Nation and the Swati Royal family.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has also issued a statement to convey his condolences to the Monarch and the Zulu Nation.
“My sincerest condolences to the Royal Family and Zulu nation at large at the unexpected passing of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, Regent of the Zulu Nation,” said Ramaphosa.
Former Public Protector, Prof Thuli Madonsela said she is heartbroken and she can’t imagine the depth of sorrow in the royal family.
EFF’s Vuyani Pambo said the Queen will be remembered for her instrumental role in restoring the annual Reed Dance.
“We had hoped she will continue to hold the reign until the installation of the the successor, “ said Pambo.
Mike Ellison-Lewis from the United States of America said: “With respect and honor, I send condolences to the family and the Zulu Kingdom on the passing of the Regent of the Zulu Nation,”
