The prime minister to the Zulu Monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has announced the passing of Queen Mantfombi Zulu, the regent of the Zulu nation.

A statement released by Buthelezi has described her passing as unexpected, and has left the “family bereft”.

It also says there will be no leadership vacuum in the Zulu nation.

Queen Mantfombi of Khangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma is the great wife to the Zulu Nation and the late King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu since she’s from a Royal family.

She’s also the sister to King Mswati III and the daughter of King Sobhuza.

She is the 3rd wife to the late King of the Zulu Nation who passed on in March.

“On behalf of the Royal Family, I wish to assure the nation that while we are all rightly grief-stricken, there will be no leadership vacuum in the Zulu Nation.

“Further announcements on Her Majesty’s funeral and the necessary arrangements will be made in due ccourse. May Her Majesty, our Regent, rest in peace,” said Buthelezi.

Queen Mantfombi was supposed to appoint King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu’s succesor after the three-month mourning period.
