MacG apologises to US singer after offensive sex question

By Sihle Mkhize

Controversial Podcast and Chill host MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho has humbled himself and apologised to American R&B singer Ari Lennox.

This follows an interview last month with podcaster MacG which Lennox described as ‘distasteful and contained predatory questions’.

MacG surprised the singer by his straight forward line of questioning which some people have found to be offensive.

He asked the Pop singer: “Is someone fucking you good right now?”

Ari was visibly shocked by the question, and expressed that she didn’t appreciate MacG’s explicit phrasing.

Oh my God,” she said. “That’s a wild question. Why ask it that way? Whoa.”

Speaking to US podcasters Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay in a recent episode of Higher Learning,  MacG responded to the claims by Ari.

Among them was that Ari had asked that certain parts of their discussion be deleted before airing.

“They told me exactly what to remove and we did remove that. There is stuff we removed that if it were to go up right now it would cause more chaos,” he said.

MacG further revealed that he was filled with remorse. This especially in the aftermath of the interview.

“I want to sincerely apologise for that question and how it made her feel. And everything that came after that interview dropped. I’m not a malicious person. I don’t hate anyone.”

Recently the singer addressed the incident in a series of now-deleted tweets.

She wrote: “I just feel ambushed and blind-sighted. Just because I happily and freely sing/write about sex doesn’t warrant any kind of creepy disrespect.”

Amstel withdrew its sponsorship of MacG’s #PodcastAndChill after the grossly offensive remarks about a transgender woman were made by the hosts in one of the episodes.

In December, Amanda du Pont made several shock revelations in response to allegations made by Jub Jub.
