Actress and TV presenter Minenhle “Minnie” Dlamini has denied that she was ever engaged to Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
The two dated for a while and there were reports that Khune had gone a step further to make ‘intombi yomZulu’ his wife.
It was rumoured at the time that Minnie’s family had asked for R1-million in dowry for their precious daughter.
And speaking to DJ Fresh on his podcast series, Minnie said she was never engaged to Khune.
“Khune lolobaled me?! That’s the worst (lie) and I hate it. I hate IT!,” said Minnie.
“People still think it is true. There were zero (cows paid). There was not even a letter (to my parents) to start the conversation (of paying lobola).
“It is so bad. I actually the other day (I met) someone (who) thought it was real. And I was like, ‘NOO’ the relationship was not even that serious,” added Minnie.
Minnie’s relationship with Khune ended abruptly amid rumours that he had cheated on her with a close friend.
It later came to light that the keeper was dating Durban socialite Sbahle Mpisane, who was close with Minnie at the time.
