A dark cloud is hanging over popular radio presenter DJ Fresh and his sidekick, Euphonik.
This after allegations made by a Siphelele Madikizela who has come out accused them of drugging and raping her some 10 years ago, when she says she was still a virgin.
The woman took to Twitter and tagged both the famous radio personalities: “Will you ever acknowledge drugging me and further raping me? I was completed drugged I don’t know whether you both raped me or one of you did and later laughed about it the next morning saying we (me and three girls) were so drunk we kept blacking out but nasidlwengula,” she wrote.
Gauteng police have confirmed that a formal case of rape has been opened against the two well-known personalities.
Police authorities confirmed to the media that the woman who levelled allegations of rape against the two men had opened a case of rape at Sunnyside police station on January 13.
Both DJ Fresh and Euphonik are employed by Primedia Broadcasting working for music radio station 947.
Acting Primedia Broadcasting CEO Geraint Crwys-Williams released a statement saying 947 and Primedia Broadcasting saying they were evaluating all the information on the alleged misconduct.
“We take these matters extremely seriously and apply a rigorous, systematic internal process to assess them. We are awaiting substantiation of the current information from the relevant authorities. Once we have this, we will respond accordingly,” said Crwys-Williams.
This is not the first time that DJ Fresh is facing rape accusation on social media. Last year, Ntsiki Mazwai, posted allegations on social media claiming DJ Fresh had raped her.
DJ Fresh, born Thato Sikwane, successfully pursued an injunction in court, that forced Mazwai to remove all the social media posts referring to the allegations.
In its judgment, the court found Mazwai didn’t have enough evidence to back her claims, instructed her to remove her posts and refrain from making further derogatory statements about Sikwane.
DJ Fresh and Euphonik released joint statement saying that they’ve decided to step away.
“In light of the serious allegations levelled against us we’ve decided to step away from all public work engagements until such time that this matter has been resolved and the law has taken it’s course.
