Maskandi artist Saliwa Ndunakazi has described the incident where he touched a female supporter’s private parts during an embrace.
Saliwa says he has apologised to the supporter, his fiancee and her sisters for the incident which happened on Saturday.
Isolezwe reports that the incident happened during the Bhinca Day Career and Music Expo at the Gugu Dlamini Park in Durban.
The photo of Saliwa with his hand on the women’s privates in a suggestive manner trended on social media.
“Sometimes we do things jokingly and forget that not everyone will see it in the same light,” Saliwa is quoted as saying.
“Such an incident eclipses whatever good you may be doing and people focus on it.”
The report says the woman who was the victim of this incident is now depressed as she feels violated.
The musician was however more worried about the incident taking the shine away from his explosive performance on the day.
“Instead of my people talking about my performance, there is this photo which was taken carelessly.
“We don’t even know who took it and when because there were different people taking photos.
“I would like to humbly apologise to the lady who I was with in the photo and her partner.
“I also apologise to my partners’ sisters and my partner with whom I am in a romantic relationship,” he added.
The event was hosted to highlight the careers that young people can follow in the music industry despite singing.
It was organised by young musician Navigator Gcwensa. On the list of performers on the day were Amageza Amahle, Jumbo and Ndoni among others.

It is reported that despite the unfortunate incident involving Saliwa, the event was a great success with a huge turnout.
