Twitter trolls Musa over his engagement to Proverb’s former girlfriend

Posting news that were meant to be celebrated on Twitter turned ugly for TV presenter and medical doctor, Dr Musa Mthombeni. The 30-year-old introduced her fiancé Liesl Laurie in a tongue-in-cheek manor, captioning a picture of Liesl: “Here is my fiancé. Yes, I did come to fight.”

The news soon took a turn south with some Twitter users calling out the fact that he is with someone esle’s ex. Liesl is rapper and TV presenter turned producer Proverb’s ex.

She was with him when he went through an ugly separation from his then wife. But they later went their separate ways. They were an ‘it’ couple at some point which is why some Twitter users started a poll on who Liesl look good with between Proverb and Musa.

“This was the moment that I reminded him that I love my ring and this special proposal so much… but I love him even more,” Liesl said in a caption attached to a picture of her ring.

The couple flew to Durban for the weekend where they enjoyed precious time at five star hotels, Beverly Hills and Oyster Box.

Minnie Dlamini-Jones and Maps Maponyane were among the first celebrities to congratulate Musa and Liesl and wish them well.

Twitter user, Sthabile Mbili came out gun blazing defending the couple engagement from those who were mocking them.

“You guys are such losers for bringing Proverb into Liesl and Musa’s engagement. Going as far as making polls of who Liesl looked better with?​ Gutter behaviour, I’m telling you.”

Last year Musa was said to be off the market as gorgeous Hlatsi Molokomme was her shoulder to cry on. But their love faced some challenges and ended.

Liesl is a model and beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Miss South Africa in 2015. She has represented her country at Miss World. Currently she’s a radio presenter at Jacaranda FM.
