TS Galaxy in financial stew as players and staff salaries unpaid

Allegations of a dictatorship rule has brought Dstv premiership club TS Galaxy into a financial crisis. 

It is reported that players and staff are running into debts because they have not been paid at TS Galaxy.

It is understood that the club usually pays their staff and players the 28th of every month but they are yet to receive their January salaries. 

A source said the only players who got salaries are those who were in the starting XI in the game against Golden Arrows last week.

TS Galaxy are in 10th position in the Dstv Premiership table after they thumped Arrows 4-0.

“Unpaid salaries is not something new at the club,” a source is quoted as saying in a Sunday World report. 

“Technical team, some players, and supporting staff are not paid. Players were forced into a trip to Italy where Galaxy stayed for 20 days. 

Players made to pay for overseas trip

“The players were deducted 10% of their salaries together with the staff to pay for the trip.

“They played against Sampdoria of Italy, Al Batin of Saudi Arabia, and Giresunspor of Turkey. 

“All the Sukazi family members were there in Turkey including his two wives and the kids. 

“Workers were not back paid their two to three months salaries owed from last year.”  

In the wake of unpaid salaries, the club splashed money buying the Hollywoodbets Super League status for their women’s team. 

The women’s team were also bolstered with big name players like Mpumi Nyandeni, Vilakazi and “Lipstick Lady” Nomvula. 

Club owner Tim Sukazi is alleged to have opted against addressing his staff because he is afraid that this might get to the media. 

“The workers are in the dark. Some of the players’ rented dwellings that are supposed to be paid for by the club have not been paid for,” adds the source.

The Purpose also learnt that players were informed about the Turkey trip two months before they embarked on the journey.

They also wanted to deduct 20% but negotiated for 10%. TS Galaxy spokesperson Minenhle Mkhize was sceptical to comment on the issue.

“I’m currently on leave and I’m not allowed to comment, please contact the chairman or our marketing director,” he said.

Tim Sukazi responded by saying that he won’t be dragged into this kind of nonsense. 

“Go and speak to the players. I am not going to be dragged into this kind of nonsense. Write whatever you want,” he said.
