Mzansi is in mourning once again following the death of Jazz singer and songwriter Gloria Bosman.
The news of Bosman’s passing broke on social media on Tuesday afternoon.
The 50-year-old Soweto born icon reportedly died after a short illness.
The Amaqwati hitmaker is amongst the celebrated singers in Mzansi as she holds multiple music awards.
Her awards include two SA Music Awards (SAMA’s) and more than eleven nominations as well as two KORA nominations.
Bosman’s death comes just after she had been announced as the newest member of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) board of directors.
In a recent interview, she had said she was honoured to be back to performing at live events.
She was quoted by media in November last year expressing her excitement for being on Africa’s biggest musical festival, “Joy of Jazz”.

Bosman family were yet to confirm her death at the time of publishing.
News of her death follows that of Costa Titch’s who died suddenly while performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Nasrec, Johannesburg last weekend.

Costa’s death came just a month after that of Kiernan Forbes who was popularly known as AKA.
He was shot outside an eatery in Durban’s popular Florida Road in February.
