Maskandi female group Osukasambe who are popularly known as AmaYellowbones are delighted to grace Goduka Music Festival.
AmaYellowbones from south-west of Durban are among the heavyweight artists scheduled to grace King Zwelithini stadium on December 3.
Group member Zandile “Zah” Mngoma said the uniqueness of this festival is that they also bring other genres such as kwaito and old skool.
“We promise world class performance. Our fans know us for entertaining. We don’t limit ourselves as maskandi artists but we also dance.
“AmaYellowbones are capable of performing different songs in 10 minutes. I urge all music lovers to buy tickets and come in numbers.
“People must also be responsible, those who drink alcohol please drink at home. We still need each other next year,” adds Zah.
The name goduka is used to tell someone to go back home. And the festival is held just as migrant workers are getting ready to trek back home for the festive holidays.
The organiser, who is popularly known as Pastor Mjosty speaking to The Purpose, said music lovers all over social media are excited about this festival.
“We’re welcoming them. Much as Goduka is dominated by Maskandi artists but it is a mixture of various genres. That makes it more attractive” said Mjosty who doubles as comedy actor.
Artists such as Proffessor, Mapaputsi, Lagxabha, Phuzekhemisi, Sgwebo Sentambo, Thwasa Lekhansela are also billed to perform.
Tickets are on sale at Shoprite/Checkers and Spar starting from R100 for general and R500 for VIP. The event will start at 11 am and until the next morning.
