Big Nuz singer, songwriter and CEO of Westink Record Mandla Maphumulo popular known as Mampintsha has died at the age of 40.
Mampintsha had suffered a stroke and was receiving medical attention at Durdoc Hospital in Durban.
Westink record company has confirmed the passing of Mampintsa.
“Husband, father, musician and WestInk CEO Mandlenkosi Mampintsha has died. Details of his passing cannot be shared with the public.
The family of Mandlenkosi Maphumulo aka Mampintsha as well as the WestInk team has kindly requested privacy at this difficult time and will release a statement in due cause.
Details of the funeral will be confirmed” reads statement.
Mampintsha’s death follows the Big Nuz comeback with a new album titled R Mashesha with a smash hit song, Ngeke.
Furthermore, the hit song has been voted to the uKhozi FM Ingoma Ehlukanisa Unyaka Top 10.

Big Nuz is now only left with Danger.
Samro in a statement said, “In memory of Big Nuz group member Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, SAMRO sends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and industry colleagues.
Mampintsha will always be remembered for his immense contribution to the South African music industry,” statement reads.
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Amanda Bani-Mapena has expressed shock and sadness at the sudden and untimely passing of Mampintsha.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of yet another artist who was born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal. Mampintsha was an immensely talented young man who rose from the township of Umlazi and defied many odds to become one of the country’s foremost musical figures”.
The MEC said her heart also goes out to his long term partner Babes Wodumo, mother, the children, family, friends and acquaintances from the industry.
So massive was the pair’s popularity that they had also started dabbling with a TV reality show “UTHANDO LODUMO” which aired on ShowMax and was on its second season.
