Despite controversy that refuses to die down and putting the Zulu Royal House under the spotlight over the King’s throne. The newly nominated heir to the throne, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini Zulu said his priority is to unite the family and be a shield to his late father’s people.

Speaking publicly for the first time, King Misuzulu clarified that out of all the drama that erupted after he had been nominated in Queen Regent Mantfombi MaDlamini Zulu’s will as the next king, he had to man up.

“I had to grow up and take the responsibility given to me,” he said. King Misuzulu praised his late father, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, saying he was fortunate to take over the reins because his father had laid a foundation.

“Out of all this… I really once again thank you for your support and I want to work with everyone in the role that I will play in so far as being King,” he said.

King Misuzulu vowed to continue working together with the government, relevant institutions and organisations to deal head on with poverty and other priority matters to ensure the betterment of his people.

“However, we cannot do it alone as the Zulus, we need other friends and systems to come together especially in the issue of land,” he said. He didn’t shy away from the issue that he was from a polygamous family, and anything can happen, when asked about plans of taking a second wife.
