Maskandi legend Phuzekhemisi’s daughter Ntando Mnyandu is following in her father’s footsteps in the music industry.
The 19-year-old Ntando is not just an average musician but also a composer. She is also an instrumentalists who plays drums and guitar.
She has recently dropped a hit single titled Inkomo Edla Yodwa which is already found in all music digital platforms.
And just a few days after the release of the single, she was booked to perform at Illovo Primary School Hall on Heritage Day.
That is where she put on a world-class performance much to the delight of the audience. Amongst the audience was her famous father who came to witness her first public performance.
“My dad and his band instilled in me everything I know about music because they used to do rehearsals at home,” says Ntando.
“I was just 7 years then when I fell in love with music. The funny part however was that I started recording as a Hip-Hop artist,” she said.
Speaking to The Purpose regarding the message contained in the song, Ntando says it comes from the things she sees in her community.

“I once faced this situation, so I decided to compose a song. I believe that there are many others who have encountered a similar problem of being abandoned by those they trust.
“This is the million-dollar reason why this song stands out,” she explains. Ntando recorded at Hlalankosi Studio in Malukwazi, south of Durban.
She was helped by Phuzekhemisi who produced the song alongside Mamfamfatha, Kwazi and Sbuko.
The artist has urged her fans for support as she is destined for bigger opportunities. Ntando is the sixth born in the Phuzekhemisi family. She was born and bred in Lower Illovo, south of Durban.
