Former Durban Nytes member Cebo Ngcobo and his daughter are in a critical yet stable condition in hospital after surviving a horrific car crash.
Cebo, who is a singer and dancer and also known as Ipantsula Eli Clean, made his name with Durban Nytes with their hit song Shumaya.
According to The Purpose sources based in Jozi, Cebo was on his way from the Johannesburg CBD to Fourways when the accident happened on Saturday.
The former Durban Nytes star was driving a Hyundai i10 at the time of the unfortunate incident that left him and his daughter with serious injuries.
They were rushed by paramedics to Helen Joseph hospital where they were admitted and received medical attention.
“Cebo’s situation with his daughter is critical. We pray to God for their speedy recovery,” says a source.
When we contacted Cebo, he said he was still in hospital and sounded depressed and in pain.
“It’s true that on Saturday I was involved in a car accident. In fact I was on my way back to my residential place with my daughter.

“When I asked how we got involved in the accident my daughter said I was avoiding a truck.
“That is when I accidentally bumped into a vehicle which was parked on the yellow lane.
“As we speak my daughter is nursing a broken arm and leg. I also can’t walk because my hip bone, leg and arm are broken.
“The nurses have told me that I will have to go through theatre for further medical attention,” said Cebo.
Just before the accident, Cebo had teamed up with former Afro-soul singer Lucky Dladla to start a record company called We Believe in Gold Entertainment.
He left Durban Nytes and went solo in 2018. He released a single called Tatalaza.
The label has recorded three artists and he also released the single Ngisizeni, followed by three others with amapiano beats.
