Recently widowed Gqom queen, Babes Wodumo is now ready to release new music just a few weeks after her husband Mampintsha’s death.
The charismatic Babes Wodumo revealed this during an interview with Metro FM’s drive time show host T-Bo Touch on Tuesday.
It was her first radio interview after the shocking death of Mampintsha who was a Gqom and Kwaito kingpin in December.
Babes Wodumo said she will continue with performances and release new music since she’s now the only one to put food on the table.
“I am strong and I can’t lock myself up in the house. That’s the cause of depression and I don’t want to fall into that trap.
“I need to go out there and work… I am now the only one to put bread on the table,” said the controversial singer and dancer.
Babes Wodumo added that she’s been in the studio cooking a new album in which she features Mampintsha.
She says the work had to be put on ice to allow Big Nuz to promote their album. Mampintsha was part of Big Nuz.
Sounding excited, she said: “I have fifteen songs ready to be released. People will continue to hear Mampintsha’s voice in my album.”
Jokingly, T-bo Touch begged her to send the new album to Metro FM first, and not Ukhozi FM.
On the issue of their young son nicknamed Sponge, she admitted that he misses his dad everyday.

She said that Sponge still recognises Mampintsha when he sees him in music videos on TV.
Big Nuz’s latest hit, Ngeke is on high rotation on radio and music TV stations across the country.
It won the Song Of The Year on Ukhozi FM and a few other stations including Gagasi FM.
Before the interview on Metro FM, Babes had been trending because of her threats to spill the beans on all the girls who had been in relationships with her late husband.
She threatened to publicise the nudes and WhatsApp conversations that the women had with Mampintsha while he was married to her.
