Truck brakes allegedly failed and the driver lost control

Road accident involving multiple vehicles and two trucks in Pinetown just before Marianhill Tollgate claimed four lives. One light motor vehicle was swept beneath a truck and was severely damaged killing all four occupants.
Multiple people treated on scene and extrication of bodies using jaws of life by fire department.
Motorists going to Durban are advised to use alternative route and avoid using N3 East bound because the road is closed.
Saint tweeted “What was it doing on FLIPPING FAST LANE!!! How many people must die on the N3 because of Truck Drivers HOW MANY TIMES!!! Almost every 2-4 months just before the tollgate there’s a fateful accident involving trucks not so long ago there was one on the same freaking road”
Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula sent condolences to the friends and relatives who lost their loved ones.
“I would like to convey my heartfelt condolences to the relatives and friends of those who lost their lives due to a fatal crash which took place on the N3 this morning. It is incredibly saddening that we continue to mourn the loss of loved ones as a result of road carnage” he said.
