Disloyal artist leaves producers feeling like ‘used condoms’

Jaiva Zimnike, who is also popularly known as ‘Uthisha wentambo’ in Maskandi circles, has been outed as a cheat and a generally disloyal person.

The 34-year-old Maskandi artist, whose real name is Mzovukile Khanyeza (34) had been accused of agreeing and committing to record a Maskandi album with another studio only to later ditch the project, leaving the project owners feeling like used condoms.

According to a Purpose Magazine mole based in Jozi, Jaiva was promised a minibus taxi and a huge amount of money by an unnamed businessman in return for doing an album with Thammy Music. He is said to have never thought twice and jumped on the project.

“Jaiva surprised us, all we knew is that he signed with Thammy Music and his project was almost done. On the eleventh hour Jaiva was nowhere to be found. He just disappeared without finishing the project,” said the source.

Another insider told The Purpose that every hard work done by Thammy Music’s talented producer and sound engineer Nyamazane at Studio 12 was then taken to Jan Studios without the producer’s consent.

“The work done by Nyamazane is exceptional and is of an international standard. We were disappointed listening to his poorly recorded “new” album. The demo is better than what I heard. If Jaiva was a girl I would call her a slut,” the insider said.

Nyamazane who’s been working with Jaiva day and night, insisted that he doesn’t want to find himself in trouble but agreed that he worked with Jaiva.

“I’ve worked with Jaiva Zimnike and I was looking forward to see his album prospering but unfortunately he left us without notice. I heard that he took his work to Jan studios,” Nyamazane said.

Thami Mdluli from Tammy Music confirmed that Jaiva Zimnike left his stable.

Jaiva made his name after displaying talent with various known and respected artists such as the late Mgqumeni, Osaziwayo, Ogezo, Mfiliseni Magubane, Igcokama Elisha and many more.

Jaiva confirmed his departure from Thammy Music and went on to say their sound was not good enough for him anymore. “It’s true that I left Thammy Music’s studios, the problem is the sound.

“Their sound may be good for artists such as Mbuzeni, Chwane Lebhaca and others coming from the south coast. (But) People expected my “sound” hence I’ve already made my mark was going to be embarrassed if I released my album with studio 12.

Besides, people who are close to me and assisting financial advised me to go back to Jan Smith studios,” Jaiva said.
