The son of the former president, Jacob Zuma and the grandson of the late president, Dr Nelson Mandela have different views on the state of the current ANC.
Edward Zuma, Zuma’s first born, believes that the ANC has been hijacked by liberals with their capitalism policies while Inkosi Mandla Mandela commends the ANC on the strides it has made to improve the lives of the former marginalised communities.
Zuma said the country has removed apartheid and replaced it with capitalism under the leadership of liberals.
“As a result, the elasticity of the gap between the poor and the rich, the highest levels of unemployment and the unmeasurable poverty are at their highest exhaustion,” says Zuma.
On the other hand, Inkosi Mandela said that the ANC has achieved a lot since it came into power in 1994.
“The ANC government has made education an apex priority and the achievements thus far in the realm of education has been phenomenal.
“We have achieved universal free basic education for all South African children and the goals of free tertiary education are well within reach,” says Mandela.
He further said that people must ensure that the realm of skills and training are aligned with the NDP and its Vision 2030.
Mandela also encouraged rural communities that they must ensure that they are included and not left on the periphery of South Africa’s development.
